DETROIT ~ Detroit City Council Mary Sheffield and Rev. Solomon Kinloch, Jr. met in a debate Wednesday night in a televised debate, taking jabs at each other while making their cases as to why they should be the next mayor of Detroit. Sheffield pointed to Kinloch’s inexperience, having never held public office, while Kinloch claimed that her leadership on city council saw little change for the average Detroiter. The general election for the mayoral office will take place Nov. 4.
