DETROIT, Oct. 8, 2025 ~ Mitch Albom, author and host of WJR‘s “The Mitch Albom Show,” recently released his new book, “Twice,” which has gained recognition as a Good Morning America Book Club pick.
This story of “Twice” continues Albom’s tradition of exploring “what if” scenarios, featuring Alfie, a character who can revisit and alter any life choice he makes, correcting past errors. However, this ability has a significant exception: it does not apply to love. When Alfie tries to re-do a decision related to love, he finds the outcome is irreversible, forcing him to confront the implications of his unique power.
“I wanted to explore the idea not only about second chances and us thinking life could be better a different way, but also love,” Albom said on WJR. “The reason I made love an exception to the rule is because love isn’t a missed basketball shot that you just go back, fix it, put the ball in, and you win the game. Love is the first day that you’re in love with somebody, but also the hundredth and the ten thousandth, and it’s the whole journey.”
