DETROIT, July 18, 2025 ~ Mayor of the City of Detroit Mike Duggan is officially running for Governor of Michigan in 2026 as an Independent. The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce was quick in extending their support to him in the race.
“A vast majority of the PAC and the rest of the business community in the Detroit region are behind Mike Duggan,” Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Sandy Baruah said. “The PAC decided that they can do more good now than later.”

(CONTINUED) With the early selection, the Chamber stated that they have to think of outside-of-the-box ways to help the best interests of the state of Michigan.
Duggan now awaits for the Democratic and Republican candidates to be announced prior to next year’s election.
