DETROIT, July 18, 2025 ~ The Detroit Lions announced the signing of 2025 second-round draft pick Tate Ratledge ahead of training camp that kicks off on Sunday, July 20.
The offensive lineman out of Georgia has been taking practice reps at center to try and fill the hole of Frank Ragnow who retired earlier in the offseason. The deal came a bit later than expected in the cycle due to NIL boosting the value of guaranteed contracts, which happened for the first time in NFL history as Seattle Seahawks second-round pick Nick Emmanwori signed a fully guaranteed deal.
