BATTLE CREEK, MI, July 10, 2025 ~ WK Kellogg reached an agreement Thursday to be sold to Italian candy company Ferrero, leaving questions on the future for the town in which it is headquartered.
Kellogg’s, the maker of classic cereals like Frosted Flakes, Frosted Mini Wheats, Special K, and Raisin Bran, has been based in Battle Creek for over a century, leaving concerns over how this sale could impact the local economy. According to MLive, Battle Creek will remain the headquarters for Ferrero’s cereal division, but no indications have been given in terms of layoffs.

The Kellogg Foundation is here, and I believe if they’ve signed off on it, it’s a good thing for our community and the state of Michigan.“
