DETROIT, July 9, 2025 ~ Commerce Township resident and owner of Ugly Christmas Sweater, Inc. Firas Hajjar paid a $1 million settlement to the Justice Department after illegally receiving $504,000 in Paycheck Protection Program loans.
“He failed to disclose that he was convicted of tax evasion for one of his internet companies,” Managing Partner of Flood Law Todd Flood told “All Talk with Kevin Dietz.” “He also put it under his wife’s name, she wasn’t the real owner of the business.”

(CONTINUED) Hajjar was ineligible for these loans for his sweater business and his two other corporations, Your Fantasy Warehouse, Inc. and Costume Agent, Inc, since he had pleaded guilty for felony tax evasion within five years of the request.
The PPP loans were meant to help struggling small businesses during COVID-19. Investigations of other companies who used fraud to receive money are underway.
