DETROIT, June 25, 2025 ~ U.S. Representative Tom Barrett (R-MI) joined 760 WJR’s “All Talk with Kevin Dietz” Wednesday to discuss the recent U.S. military strike on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, the fragile ceasefire in the Middle East, and concerns over intelligence leaks.
Barrett, a former Army pilot and member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, praised the precision and professionalism of the U.S. military operation. “The crew members and those that had a hand in this mission really ought to be applauded for the precision that they operated under,” he said, noting the stealth and coordination involved in the strike. He emphasized that while early assessments of the mission’s impact are still developing, the operation demonstrated U.S. military capability and restraint.

(CONTINUED) The congressman expressed concern over recent intelligence leaks, suggesting they may be politically motivated. “It’s very easy for Americans to tell that whomever would be leaking this was doing it, not out of an interest of national security… but of an interest of trying to discredit the President,” Barrett said. He warned that such leaks could undermine diplomatic efforts and the credibility of U.S. operations abroad.
Barrett also highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum in the current ceasefire between Iran and Israel, calling the early days of the agreement “the most critical.” He voiced hope that the situation could lead to broader diplomatic progress in the region, including potential expansion of the Abraham Accords.
