DETROIT, June 24, 2025 — Pistons President of Basketball Operations Trajan Langdon spoke to the media Tuesday about the upcoming NBA Draft and what the team can learn following the conclusion of the NBA Playoffs.
“Depth is important in this style of play,” Langdon told 760 WJR. “The game’s getting faster, it’s getting bigger. I think we have some players that fit that on our roster right now, and I think they showed that in the first round against the Knicks. So continuing to improve and develop our young players is going to be paramount for us going forward — and continuing to add pieces around that fit and can enhance their development.”

(CONTINUED) The Pistons hold the rights to the no. 37 pick in the draft. This marks the first time Detroit has not held a first-round pick since 2018. Langdon said the team aims to select the best player available, regardless of position, upside, or age.
Despite injuries affecting several top teams in the Eastern Conference, Langdon emphasized that this has not altered his long-term roadmap for the franchise. This aligns with his stated approach of avoiding major offseason moves and instead focusing on improving the team around the margins.
The 2025 NBA Draft will take place Wednesday, June 25, at 8 p.m., with the second round scheduled for Thursday at 8 p.m.
