DETROIT, June 2, 2025 ~ Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood took home victory during the 2025 Detroit Grand Prix, presented by Lear. Kirkwood achieved his second IndyCar win of the season over the weekend-long event.
After pushing through front-wing damage during the early stage of the race, Kirkwood ended up leading for 48 laps to ensure the win on the streets of downtown Detroit. The circuit moved from Belle Isle to the city center in 2023.

(CONTINUED) Santino Ferruci finished with his best career result, taking second place on the podium next to Colton Herta, who started in the pole position. Although the field included many international drivers, the top three consisted of all-Americans.
The event had no-first turn incidents, marking a clean race despite the results from previous years. Although he finished 25th, Alex Palou still holds a sizeable points lead over Kirkwood in the championship.
Smith was awarded the 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix Daniel J. Loepp Community Champion Award on Saturday, May 31.
