A retired UAW official faces 16 months in jail after pleading guilty in a job-training scandal.
Virdell King becomes the second defendant to plead guilty to misuing funds from the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center.
In a plea arrangement with the U-S Attorney’s office, the 65 year old former associate union director pleaded guilty to one conspiracy count, for using a credit card from the training center account to buy thousands of dollars worth of merchandise for herself.
King faces up to 16 months in prison, and will have to pay restitution.
In addition to King, charges are pending against former Fiat-Chrysler labor negotiator Al Iacobelli, former company anlyst Jerome Durden, and Monica Morgan, the widow of UAW Vice President General Holiefield. Durden has also pleaded guilty.
King will be sentenced in January.
