A Romulus man is behind bars, accused of attacking a jogger Tuesday afternoon at the Oakwood Metropark.
Huron Township police say a woman was jogging alone in the park when 47 year old Darien Pickling jumped out and struck her in the face and knocked her to the ground.
The woman told police Pickling told her he was going to kill her. That’s when he attempted to sexually assault her. She says she was able to fight him off and run away to get help.
After a short search, police say they located Pickling on a nearby bike trail still carrying the victim’s phone. The woman is recovering at the hospital.
Pickling is set to be arraigned on Friday.
