Police say five people were killed in a 2-vehicle crash in Livingston County.
Two people in one vehicle and three in another all died on the scene. One of the dead has been identified as Candice Dunn. She was returning home from a banquet for the Michigan Department of Corrections where she was awarded the 2017 parole/probation agent of the year.
The three people who were injured sustained life threatening injuries.
Michigan State Police say it happened at M-59 & Argentine Road, west of US-23. Officers say one vehicle was going southbound on Argentine, the other was eastbound on M-59. Police say the vehicle on Argentine ran a stop sign and slammed into the other vehicle, which burst into flames.
Police tried to reconstruct the crash. Some of the injured victims are in critical condition.
Michigan State Police say they don’t know if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
