Burke Ramsey, the brother of Jon Benet Ramsey, has filed a $150 million defamation lawsuit against forensic pathologist Werner Spitz. Reports say Ramsey is accusing Spitz, who appeared in CBS’ The Case of: JonBenét Ramsey, of “explicitly and falsely stating that Burke Ramsey killed his sister.”
Burke accuses Spitz , of what the lawsuit says is ” a disturbing history of making false statements related to the brutal murder of young girls.”
JonBenét’s parents, John and Patsy, and brother were cleared of charges in 2008 by prosecutors who said the DNA on her underwear didn’t belong to a family member. The girl was murdered on Christmas 1996 at the family home in Boulder, Colorado.
The suit was filed in Wayne County Circuit Court.
Burke Ramsey is 29. He lives in northern Michigan.
