Federal money for the Flint water emergency appears certain. The U.S. House approved an amendment to a larger water resources bill that would authorize $170-million for infrastructure funding for Flint.
Republican leaders have told Democrats that when separate water resources legislation goes to the conference committee for lawmakers to work out differences, they will pursue the $220 million package as approved by the Senate. The final vote will come near the end of the year.
