Police are investigating a mass killing in Dearborn Heights.
A man killed four children at a home on Hipp near Annapolis. The mother was also shot and stabbed.
The man called police around 1:20 a.m. and told them he had killed his family. Police found him waiting on the front porch and was taken into custody.
Two teenagers— a boy and a girl ages 17 and 19— were found shot and killed inside the home. The two younger children — two girls 4 and 6— were found dead — apparently killed in a car,
Police say the man manipulated the tail pipe of the car and killed the children with exhaust fumes.
Police say the man is the stepfather of the two oldest children and the father of the two youngest children.
The woman is the mother of all four children. Neighbors identify her as Faith Green.
Police say Green is in stable condition. She is expected to survive. Court records show she filed for divorce last month.
State records indicate that a man listed as a resident of the house is a 49 year old convicted of second degree murder in 1992 and sentenced to 15 to 25 years in prison.
He is expected to be arraigned tomorrow.
