A manhunt is underway to capture a prisoner who was mistakenly released by Oakland County authorities.
25 year old Johnnie Rodgers was released in error from the jail. He was serving a seven to 15 year sentence for attempted murder, robbery and felony firearms violations out of Wayne County in 2014.
Rodgers was in the custody of Oakland County while on a writ for a court appearance on an unrelated charge. Rogers should have been returned to the custody of the State Department of Corrections but instead was released from jail.
He has a tattoo on his right arm that says: “Live for everything die for nothing.”
The Michigan Department of Corrections, Michigan State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service are trying to find Rogers. He may have been seen on the west side of Detroit.
Rodgers should be considered dangerous and should not be approached.
