An hours-long standoff outside of a house ended as Detroit Police believed a gunman had barricaded himself inside with a child. They discovered that the house was empty.
Police said a group of people were playing dice near Kendall and Whitcomb when someone got upset and started shooting.
When officers arrived they were fired at and returned fire, according to police. A patrol car was hit by two bullets. Tracking dogs led police to a home on Sussex near Schoolcraft.
Police say they are searching for D’Angelo Davis, a convicted murderer in Minnesota.
