A state trooper investigating a traffic accident on I-696 became the victim of a crash himself.
The trooper was injured after his patrol vehicle was rear-ended on the shoulder of the EB I-696 freeway near the Lodge. The trooper was filling out a form from a previous crash involving a drunk driver. Spokesman, Lt. Mike Shaw, says the SUV was hit from behind by a construction vehicle. The trooper has fractured ribs and leg injuries. The driver at fault may be charged.
