Big Freeway Rebuilding Underway

I-275 southbound lanes are closed from I-696 to Five Mile for repaving.It’ll be closed for months.
Drivers are finding ways around it but it isn’t be easy. The official detour goes for miles.
The project is supposed to be complete in July. But then M-DOT says the northbound side will repaved. The project includes replacing 88 lane miles of concrete, including all the ramps on the mile roads and at the I-96/I-696/M-5 interchange. Check out a map and alternate routes HERE
