
It’s been seven decades since a group of young women took off their home maker aprons and picked up riveters to take their place in history. These women, who became known as Rosie the Riveters, were the heart beat of the arsenal of democracy.
On March 22, 31 of them, average age 95, where honored with a trip to Washington D.C. WJR’s Marie Osborne went along on that trip and Thursday evening at 7pm she brings us an hour long look at the trip with special interviews with many of these often forgotten hero’s of the war effort.
The show will also feature an interview with Guy Stern, a World War II veteran who used his special linguistic skills to help the U.S. intelligence effort. Still Standing, the Heroes Among Us Thursday at 7pm on WJR.
