Candice Miller is leaving Congress with an eye on a new elected job.
Miller, a Harrison Township Republican, will step down in December after 14 years in the U. S. House. Miller says she plans to run for Macomb County Public Works Commissioner. The incumbent, Democrat Anthony Marrocco, has held the post for 23 years.
Miller already has the backing of Macomb County Executive Mark hackel, a Democrat.
Miller, 61, was the Harrison Township supervisor, Macomb County treasurer, and Michigan Secretary of State before being elected to Congress.
