Some Detroit teachers say they plan to call in sick today to protest the state’s plans for the district. The angry teachers say they plan to close the Bow and Mason Elementary schools.
But no schools are closed according to the DPS web site.
The state legislature is considering $49 million in funding for the district to keep Detroit schools open for the rest of the school year.
Protesting teachers say they plan a rally later today.
