An attorney is behind bars after punching a police officer in 39th District court in Fraser. Police say Nijad Mehanna was in court representing a client when he had words with the officer in charge of the case. The argument escalated with Mehanna punching the officer in the face. The officer suffered several loose teeth and a bloody nose. Mehanna was charged with assaulting a police officer and assault and battery.
