Officials in Macomb County are looking for the person who tossed a small dog – a Shih-Tzu mix – out of a car on northbound Gratiot Avenue in Mt. Clemens. The dog suffered a broken pelvis and other injuries in the incident which took place on March 1. Witnesses spotted the dog and called 911 at about 3:45 p.m., Lt. John Michalke said in a news release. It was first thought that the dog was stuck by a car, but Macomb County Animal Control Officers determined it had been thrown from the passenger-side window of a dark-colored hatchback driving in the center lane.
Sheriff’s Detectives checked surveillance cameras around the Mt. Clemens Post Office and were able to get pictures of the vehicle. Anyone who may have information should call Detective Dave Crabtree at the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at (586) 307-9456 or the Macomb County Animal Division at (586) 469-5115.
