Detroit Public Schools Emergency Manager Steven Rhodes has warned state lawmakers that the district’s teachers should not expect to be paid after April 8. Retired bankruptcy judge Steven Rhodes says he’s committed to figuring out the issues facing the schools, but the problems require action.
Rhodes says bankruptcy is not an option for the schools. The legislature is considering legislation to restructure DPS which has hundreds of millions of dollars in debt.
