The Democratic presidential debate in Flint opened with both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders calling for the resignation of Gov. Rick Snyder over the Flint water crisis. Others included the Kalamzoo shooting, Detroit Public Schools, Detroit’s economy and more.
Snyder took to Twitter during the debate to defend himself, though he never directly mentioned the debate: “This was a failure of government at all levels that could be described as a massive error of bureaucracy. “I’ve proposed more than $230 million in additional aid for Flint, and have already delivered $70 million We’ve partnered with Michigan Works! to hire 81 Flint residents for water resource sites n a few days, political candidates will be leaving #Flint and Michigan. I am committed to the people of Flint.
