Flint residents one step closer to getting some relief for their water bills. The state house has passed a $30 million plan to credit Flint residents and businesses charged for contaminated water. Democrats said more money should have been ear marked for the plan. The senate has to sign off on some minor house changes, then the bill goes to the governor who is expected to sign. Residents would have about 65 percent of the drinkable water portion of their bills paid by the state. They would still have to pay for water used to flush toilets or do laundry.
