The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office must decide if assault charges will be filed in a case involving a state senator. The incident occurred between State Senator Marty Knollenberg and Oakland County Clerk Lisa Brown. She says Knollenberg of Troy assaulted her last week after both had attended Oakland County Executive Brooks Patterson’s annual State of the County address. She claimed Knollenberg grabbed her violently by the arm after she refused to speak to him. She filed an assault and battery complaint against him. Knollenberg said there was no assault, that he simply touched her arm as he attempted to shake hands with her. Investigators took statements from both parties and said they would submit their findings to the Oakland County Prosecutor this week.
