A Detroit couple will be going to trial for allegedly viciously beating another man because he had stirred a pot of chili. 26-year-old Jacob Rogers and 36-year-old Kimberly Richardson were bound over for trial on assault with intent to commit murder charges. The victim, Michael Williams, told a judge he was brutally attacked after he stirred a pot of chili and turned down the oven top heat to keep the meal from burning.
“I put the spoon down on the stove, I turn around, and that’s when Jacob Rogers came into the room,” Williams said. Rogers accused him of spitting in the chili or poisoning it, according to the testimony.
